The
N-Compass router compass jig is capable of cutting small radii precision
circles and arcs. It is being used here to cut a pattern of concentric
rings on a ceiling mounted light-fitting rosette. The N-Compass is ideally
suited to this kind of detailed and precision work. It is very accurate
and very easy to set up and use.
The ¼" plunger router's base plate is resting on the jigs base plate,
thus allowing the cutter position to move independently of the pivot pin
and meaning the router bit can be moved to within just 7mm to cut very
small diameter circles and arcs. The N-Compass can cut circles up to 180mm
in radius and the addition of Mod Rod extensions can be increased to 700mm
and beyond which means even the largest board can be dealt with.
