A
¼" router has been used to cut this rebate on a rosette workpiece using
the N-Compass circle cutting jig. The router cut radius is 18mm using
a straight flute bit which is shown here. The pivot pin position is just
to the right as is a previous cut of just 7mm in radius.
It can be seen clearly in this image how the router base plate rests on
the N-Compass's own base plate allowing independent movement of the cutter
position from the countersunk pivot position from which a circle or arc
will be routed. Also shown is the way the router's own guide rod locking
pins hold it firmly in place on the compass jig. Thus the router can be
easily slipped on and off at the operators convenience.
