"Point 2 Point
Findings
This marking gauge is designed for working out the correct number and position of biscuits, screws or dowels when jointing a carcass. It expands to 600mm and has eight marking points. This gauge works, but I found it limited in use, never quite delivering the distances I required. If it had 12 points rather than eight, it would be a very useful tool, as you could mark out every other mark, or skip two or three altogether. In my opinion, this would make the tool much more flexible.
The verdict
A good idea? almost a very good idea. Suitable for setting out screw holes, rather than for precision woodwork.

Measure the width of your workpiece and then subdivide by the appropriate number required ... simple.
