The
Tri Scribe multifunction marking gauge is shown here mounted on a combination
square. The ability of Tri Scribes to be used for deeper range marking
means they can reach depths usually associated only with panel gauges.
The depth being marked here is approximately 10" (250mm) which puts it
well beyond the range of a traditional marking gauge - most have an effective
range of just 5.5" (140mm). Is this important in the real world? Well
yes if you do not wish to purchase a panel gauge for intermediate depths
when a large square will suffice. Why pay for and carry around numerous
marking gauge tools when Tri Scribes will fit the bill for all.
It should be noted that whereas a panel gauge has only one marking point
option, Tri Scribes have three - pencil, scribe or blade. As well having
marking flexibility Tri Scribes are also very accurate and inherently
stable with less operating experience required for perfect results every
time.
