On
the left we have a simple vacuum template for routing repeat patterns.
On the right we have a roll of rubber Template Gasket material.
The Template Gasket roll is 2.3 metres long and like all M.POWER gasket
tapes comes with a self-adhesive backing to allow quick and easy application.
The flexibility of the Template Gasket material means that pretty much
any flat vacuum jig or vacuum bed you can envision can be created. Whether
you require a small component or a very large component to be replicated,
it is still much quicker to use a vacuum template than traditional clamping
methods and a lot less hassle.
Points to note on the template:
- Because it is narrow (10mm wide) the Template Gasket is able follow
the contours of the template's curved edge.
- With the workpiece on the very top, a single hole allows air to
be drawn from the cell into the vacuum bed below on which the template
is mounted for routing operations.
- The template must have a smooth guide edge face to allow the router
bit's cutter-bearing to run on.
